Robin Speed and Bruce Stracey founded Speed and Stracey in 1976.

In 1965, Robin Speed graduated in Law at the University of Sydney, third in the year, (first was Professor Chesterman and second Mr Justice Gummow of the High Court). Robin later completed a Master of Laws with First Class Honours at the University of Sydney. He commenced his legal career with Bartier Perry and Purcell in 1966 and was a partner there until 1975.

In 1973, Bruce Stracey graduated in Law at the University of Sydney and later completed a Master of Laws in Taxation and Trade Practices at the same University. He commenced his legal career with Bartier Perry and Purcell in 1973 and was almost immediately made a partner.

After two years of working together, Robin and Bruce decided to move on and establish Speed and Stracey.

Speed and Stracey is the business name of Speed and Stracey Lawyers Pty Ltd, a company with limited liability.
