
Robin Speed and Bruce Stracey founded Speed and Stracey
in 1976.
In 1965, Robin Speed graduated in Law at the University
of Sydney, third in the year, (first was Professor Chesterman
and second Mr Justice Gummow of the High Court). Robin later
completed a Master of Laws with First Class Honours at the
University of Sydney. He commenced his legal career with
Bartier Perry and Purcell in 1966 and was a partner there
until 1975.
In 1973, Bruce Stracey graduated in Law at the University
of Sydney and later completed a Master of Laws in Taxation
and Trade Practices at the same University. He commenced
his legal career with Bartier Perry and Purcell in 1973 and
was almost immediately made a partner.
After two years of working together, Robin and Bruce decided
to move on and establish Speed and Stracey.
Speed and Stracey is the business name of Speed and Stracey
Lawyers Pty Ltd, a company with limited liability.
Today, Speed and Stracey is one of the
most well-respected commercial law firms
in Australia. It
is
led by its Managing Director
Grae McKenzie who joined in 1983, as well as Directors
Hugh Scott (1986), Malcolm Stewart (1988), Daniel Appleby (1998) and Peter Speed
(2000).
Speed and Stracey is a commercial law firm that stands out
