Speed and Stracey has no marketing division.
We have little interest in legal ratings or in getting our
name in the media.
Our primary focus is on servicing the growing
needs of our existing clients – rather than seeking
new clients. Where time permits us to take on new clients
which fit within the Speed and Stracey Way, we are delighted
to do so.
In consequence none of our lawyers spends time on
marketing, we are all too interested in the law and the
matters
we are
working on.
The reputation of Speed and Stracey is to
be judged from the matters we have acted on over thirty years
and those
who have dealt with us. For example, Speed and Stracey
was the lead tax adviser on the successful $25 billion Westfield
merger - and at the same time was in court defending one
of the
parties charged in the HIH matter. The defence was successful – the
charges were dismissed at trial, however ASIC has instigated
further charges and a further trial is expected this
year. We were proud to act on
both matters – and all the other matters we have, and
continue to work on. We were also the lead
adviser on the $1 billion redevelopment of Pitt Street Mall.
We are also acting in a large number of proceedings in the Supreme Court, Federal Court and the High Court.
