Professional Background
Robin Speed is the Founder of Speed and Stracey Lawyers and a Senior Lawyer. He has over 40 years of continuous experience in practising law in Sydney. He is highly regarded for his academic knowledge and commercial advice.

His solid reputation is grounded on his ongoing dedication to his clients, the law and Speed and Stracey.

In 2006 Robin established the Graham Hill Annual Award in memory of the late Mr Justice Graham Hill, the leading authority on tax in Australia for nearly half a century. www.grahamhillaward.com.au

He is the secretary of the Lowy Institute for International Policy.

Robin's specific experience and expertise is advising and acting on taxation matters including company acquisitions, reorganisations, tax audits, rulings, associated litigation and representations to Government on changes to the law.

  • The lead tax adviser on the successful $25 billion stapling of the Westfield Group.
  • Issuing of taxation rulings on international and domestic taxation matters.
  • Submissions to the Federal Government on the Corporate and Financial Services Regulation Review Proposals.
  • Submissions to the Federal Government on the Review of International Tax.
  • Negotiations with the Federal Government on Australia's double tax treaties.
