Background
Hugh Scott is the Director of Commercial Litigation at Speed and Stracey Lawyers. He has over 20 years experience as a commercial lawyer. His areas of specialisation are major commercial litigation including corporate prosecutions, dispute resolution and competition law. He is very "hands on" in acting for his clients.
Hugh's practice focuses on large-scale litigation (including major corporate prosecutions), commercial dispute resolution and competition law which requires trade practices and commercial expertise. He has comprehensive academic and practical qualifications in trade practices, equity and commercial issues.
Hugh has wide ranging experience in the Supreme Courts of New South Wales and Victoria, the Federal Court and the High Court of Australia. He has acted for parties involved in some of Australia's largest disputes and is highly regarded in the legal fraternity. He also has extensive experience acting for and representing interested participants in Royal Commissions and administrative inquiries and defending Corporations Act prosecutions.
