Background
Malcolm Stewart is a Director of Speed and Stracey Lawyers. His areas of specialisation are tax audits, responding to investigations by Government departments, commercial litigation and employment law.
Malcolm provides strategic advice to clients concerning litigation he conducts on their behalf as well as litigation conducted for clients by other firms and in negotiations to settle disputes.
His practice focuses on tax audits and litigation. Malcolm has also represented a number of directors in some leading cases on corporate governance law. He was also the acting solicitor for the successful party in a landmark decision in the High Court regarding the granting of a mareva order to freeze assets that were owned by a third party to the litigation.
Malcolm has given presentations and seminars on Competition Law including to Property and Business Law Accredited Specialists. He has dealt with a number of regulatory bodies including the ATO, ACC, ACCC, ASIC, parliamentary committees in the conduct of investigations into, among other things, suspected contraventions of tax, trade practices and corporations law.
